Artist Statement:
Katie and Renée are both attracted to intricate, repetitive geometric patterns and shapes, especially those that create depth and movement. Both artists work through iteration to formalize ideas and concepts. Using the iconic Moon Over The Mountain motif as a springboard, the artists have each been inspired to create work that relies on specific geometries. Both artists value intuition as an important part of their process. Their concepts diverge in the aesthetic and structural choices emphasized in each artists’ work.
