Artist Statement
My work is defined by a strong point of view on color, light and contrast with moody undertones. My tendency is to work in series as I explore different subject matters based on my natural environment and the landscapes and people close to me. My photographs are a source of reference augmented by memory and other narratives. I also gain rich infusions of inspiration from photos I’ve taken while traveling to different places and environments. I work in layers and my favorite medium is oil paint because of it’s rich color and the juicy texture it adds to my brushwork.
